Pat Brothwell, BMUS, UNM College of Fine Arts, is owner and manager of the Studio. She teaches classical guitar and directs the Guitar Chamber Players and the Summer Guitar Workshop.

Gregg Daigle, a music graduate of UMass teaches many guitar styles including bluegrass, blues, gypsy jazz, and folk. He also teaches banjo and mandolin styles. Gregg has developed a class called Bluegrass Jamming Skills, a class devoted to developing the skills necessary to jam with other musicians. See Details under Instruments. Justin McLauchlin has recently joined Guitar Associates as a Bass teacher. He is pictured here with his student Tonya Marten, winner of the mid-school competition in bass guitar. Justin has a BMus in Theory and Composition and is currently working on a Music Education degree at UNM .

Paul Nielsen has been teaching for the Albuquerque Public Schools for the past fifteen years. He teaches guitar classes at both Highland and Albuquerque High Schools. Paul graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1977. He received a Master of Music degree from the University of New Mexico in 1982. He has studied guitar in Spain with Emilio Pujol. He has participated in master classes with Oscar Ghilia, Eliot Fisk and Sharon Isbin.

Shane Derk is the latest addition to the staff. He is the lead guitarist with the band "Nosotros" http://www.nosotrosmusic.com and teaches electric and nylon string guitar. He specializes in Brazilian and Latin American music.
